Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the closest treatment you can receive to achieve natural looking and functioning teeth replacements.

Dental implants can be utilised to replace a single missing tooth, multiple teeth, support dentures and even to replace a whole arch of missing teeth.  Dental implants require a high level of surgical and prosthetic planning to ensure the best functional and long term outcomes for the patient.  This involves comprehensive assessment of the jaw joint, existing dentition and analysis of bone and tissue quality and quantity.  If there is not adequate quality or quantity of bone or tissue a grafting or augmentation procedure may be required at time of implant placement.  There are only very rare cases in which there is not enough bone for dental implants to be a viable option for the patient.

The process of getting a dental implant varies based on the case, however it typically involves a comprehensive consultation, record taking, a surgical procedure to have the implant placed, a period of 3-4 months healing, impressions and measurements for the prosthetic (crown/bridge/denture) and then issuing of the final prosthetic on the dental implant(s).
